A Setback Is a Setup For A Comeback!

“A set back is a setup for a comeback.”

The above statement has been the theme of my life, and has set the tone for this Summer for me. I’ve never been one to believe that you have to wait for a new year to produce a new goal or chase your dreams. However I can’t deny that there’s something in the air between the end of December and beginning of January that causes me to reflect on where we’ve been and where I’d like to go. My plan was to kick off the new year by adding some enhancements to “Nina’s Notions” so I could relaunch my blog and get more connected to you (my readers). I had plans to improve my diet and exercise, do more volunteer work, start Pilates again, and a host of other things for self-improvement. I was so excited about all these new developments that I couldn’t wait to return from  Christmas vacation so I could get started on them. However none of that happened.  I moved, work got insanely busy, my heart took a couple hits and I just lost my steam.

“Life is what happens when you’re making other plans.” – John Lennon

I’m sharing this with you, because I know we’ve all had moments like that. One day you’re happily going about your life and then BOOM! Something unexpected happens that throws you off track and suddenly your life becomes the glass that is half empty, instead of half full and all you can focus on is the negative. Have you ever felt that way? Are you feeling that way now? If so I want to remind you of something I had to remind myself the other day, which is that “life is what happens while we are making other plans.” Life will always have its moments of ups and downs, but just because we get down doesn’t mean we have to stay down. Sometimes getting knocked off our feet is a good thing, because when we do get back on our feet we stand taller and are more focused on our goal. Later this week I will talk more about getting back on track, but for now just remember a setback is a setup for a come back!
